Dual Port Design
With two USB-C ports, you can charge two devices simultaneously — ideal for pairing an iPhone + iPad, or MacBook + AirPods. Apple’s power sharing ensures each device gets up to 17.5W when both are plugged in.
Smart Single-Device Mode
Plug in only one device, and it can draw the full 35W output — great for faster charging of higher-power devices.
Power Delivery Support
This adapter supports USB Power Delivery 3.0 with four fixed power delivery objects (PDOs):
-
5 V × 3 A
-
9 V × 3 A
-
15 V × 2.33 A
-
20 V × 1.75 A
This range ensures compatibility with a variety of USB-C devices
Design & Build
The adapter comes in two designs: a compact version and a traditional version. The compact version has built-in non-removable prongs and looks more like a standard iPad charger, while the traditional version supports Apple’s travel adapter kit with removable prongs. The traditional variant is around 56 × 56 × 28.5 mm and weighs ~116g.
Safety & Efficiency
Inside, the adapter uses dual symmetric power circuits for each port, and Apple includes overcurrent, overvoltage, and thermal protection. Its design also includes mirrored circuits for durability and symmetry.
Use Cases & Compatibility
Apple recommends this dual USB-C charger for devices like MacBook Air, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and more. Because of its dual-port architecture, it’s especially useful for travelers or desk setups where you want to power two devices from a single outlet.
